College and Career Readiness

Did you know that our program is a part of the Ohio Department of Higher Education?

Many people think we only help people study for the GED test, but we do so much more! We provide support services to students who already have their high school diploma and many who have already attended college.

Examples of who we provide support services to:

  • Individuals who need to brush up on their basic skills to get a new job or retain their current employment.
  • Individuals who need a higher score on the Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE), or WorkKeys for job training, funding, or employment.
  • Individuals who want to know what job fields are in demand, what education you may need for those jobs, and how to apply for them!
  • Students who applied for college or certificate training programs and need assistance studying for the entrance exam.

All of our class sites can help you with these services, but we offer additional support for students in this group at our main site in Mansfield and the Solutions Program at North Central State College.

West Fifth St. Site

At the Mansfield West Fifth St. site, we have a transitions instructor on staff. The transitions instructor's main focus is helping people transition to work or post-secondary college/training. Students who are enrolled at the West Fifth St. site meet with the transitions instructor weekly and individual appointments can be arranged.

Solutions Program (Located on North Central State College's Main Campus)

The Solutions Program is a partnership between Mansfield City Schools Adult Education and North Central State College. This site is for individuals who already have a high school diploma, GED, or even some college education. Students at this site are preparing for post-secondary entrance exams, pre-employment or training entrance exams, or could benefit from academic support in a subject that they are not currently enrolled in at a college. The class is available Monday-Thursday 10:00AM-5:00PM and Friday from 10:00AM-4:00PM. To set up a start date for the Solutions Program, please call 419-755-4716. New students generally meet with the Solutions Coordinator on a Friday to complete the initial intake meeting.
